Mike Wahle: A cautionary tale

As you have all noticed, I am not exactly burning up the blogosphere with posts here lately. I did, however, see the Mike Wahle release a few days ago and thought to myself, “I should blog about adding him to the Hawks.” Wouldn’t I have looked smart now? In...

Problem Solved: Make Dilfer the QB Coach

I just was listening to our old pal Trent Dilfer on KJR this morning when it hit me; there might not be better person to replace Zorn at QB coach in the NFL than Trent Dilfer. Here is a guy who has Matt’s trust and confidence, is already considered...

Analysis: Holmgren is coming back

So you’ve probably heard by now that Mike is coming back for one more year. No more. No less. No plan after that has been announced, though, based on Jim Mora Jr.’s actions around the Redskins vacancy, we can make some guesses about what might have been promised to...

The good and the bad, plus another RB option

A brief flurry of news in Seahawks land has got me smiling and wincing simultaneously. It’s not a good look, I must say. The Hawks signed RT Sean Locklear to a 5-year contract, reported to be worth $32 million. This is great news. Locklear is a solid RT, who...

Let the pilfering continue

As you probably have seen, Alge Crumpler was released by the Falcons today. This is a guy who has not caught less than 42 balls and 5 TDs in any of the last five seasons. Outside of Jerramy Stevens “break-out” year in 2005 (45 rec, 5 TD), those numbers...

Congrats to the Giants

Amazing game. I was not shocked, but definitely surprised. I think I was more shocked how they won than that they won. What were the odds that the team driving the length of the field to win the game would be the Giants? That play where Eli avoided the...

Seahawks get the #1 pick in the draft?

An article on ESPN has me wondering what it would take for the Hawks to get the #1 pick in the draft and who we’d take if we got it. I’m of the belief that you have very few opportunities to be in championship window, and you should do...

The Holmgren Solution

Does anyone think Holmgren’s decision is really about whether he wants to coach again? I certainly don’t. It has much more to do with whether he wants to *only* be a coach. The guy came out here to be a GM, and had that title stripped. He wants to...
